What can I Access?

Did you know that the type of information you can request varies between provinces and territories? Here are three examples.

Newfoundland

In Newfoundland, you can request the results of public opinion polls to help you make private or commercial decisions.  You can also request briefing material provided to a Minister to find out what his or her priorities are.

You can make a request to get agendas of provincial public servants’ meetings.  However, the substance of the deliberations would not be accessible to safeguard the need for frank discussions that effective policy-making requires.

You can also request aggregate medical test results.  For instance, doctors can ask for these results to help them get valuable medical information or demographics for research purposes or to help their patients.

Manitoba

In Manitoba, you can make a request for access to information pertaining to public polls conducted by the Province and the city of Winnipeg.

Alberta

In Alberta, Capital Health, a public health organization that provides health services to and central communities, posts health inspection results for restaurants in and surrounding communities on its website for public access since 2008.
